OVMS Band Web Site

Old Vail Middle School Band

We are pleased to announce that ArizonaCommunity.com will be developing and maintaining the web site for the Vail Middle School Band. Located in Vail, Arizona, the OVMS Band provides students with many opportunities to learn about music, instruments, and performing. While OVMS does not currently offer orchestral instrument instruction, Director Mr. Pete Swan teaches all aspects of woodwinds, brass, guitar, piano, and percussion.

Old Vail Middle School is a year-around school providing students with the opportunity of a one-month break every three months. While this method provides increased learning retention, it also presents an increased need of communication between students, parents, and teachers. We are definately going to bridge this gap with this incredible opportunity.

The primary objectives for the web site will be:

• Fostering communication with parents of band students
• Promoting the band program
• Providing up to date information regarding events
• Instruction areas for students to further skills
• Downloadable music for students
• Year-around track information to keep students and parents up to date

As an avid musician starting in elementary school, I believe strongly in promoting music and fine arts programs. On behalf of ArizonaCommunity.com, I would like to thank the OVMS Band for this wondrous opportunity.
