Web Angel Program Frequently Asked Questions

The following question and answer format concerns both the non-profit sector and Web Angel volunteers. We encourage both groups to learn about the other.

Are charitable organizations required to work with Web Angel Volunteer or can they acquire services directly from ArizonaCommunity.com's WebMaster/President?

Non-profit organizations are highly encouraged to participate in the Web Angel Program, although it is not a requirement. By utilizing the skills of our volunteers, we provide faster implementation of web site services. Many of our volunteers are educated in specific aspects of internet technology and are a valuable resource.

Volunteers must provide a minimum 20 hour internship for skill assessment and learning. Individual volunteer are matched with organizations based upon requested/needed services and the skill level of the volunteer. Since volunteers will be continually monitored and mentored, the quality of all web site services consistently maintains a high standard of excellence.

Are all non-profit organizations able to receive services?

We do not service organizations that discriminate, practice hatred, and/or promote violence. We always reserve the right not to provide services for any organization. If a request for services is denied, the organization will know within 48 hours of submitting an application.

If an organization is able to provide the minimum fee for services, does the volunteer working on the project receive any compensation?

Everyone at ArizonaCommunity.com is a volunteer and no monetary compensation is received for any work by anyone. Funding assists our organization with training materials, day-to-day operations, computer maintenance, and so forth. Volunteers can be reimbursed for materials purchased in order to assist our mission. This is not, however, a standard practice and volunteers can usually find free resources to meet their commitment.

Our organization already has a WebMaster. Can he/she receive assistance?

Any individual volunteering internet technology services to the non-profit sector can join our program. Volunteers providing internet presence services to charities can request assistance when needed, network with other IT volunteers, and expand knowledge within our program. We also provide training to volunteers and staff of charitable organizations in all aspects of design, development, maintenance, and promotion.
